About ACDA

Thank you for visiting Alaska's ACDA web site! We live in a beautiful state full of wonderful communities, and we're very proud to be teachers, singers and directors of choral music in Alaska.

We're also proud to be a part of the ACDA. This dynamic organization connects over 20,000 directors who lead choirs of all types from children's groups to professional choruses.

National ACDA is divided into seven geographic regions and fifty state chapters. National conventions are held in February or March of odd numbered years, and divisional conventions take place during the same time of year in even numbered years.  For a full description of the national organization, please visit the ACDA national web site.

Browse this Alaska ACDA site for information on the choral activities in Alaska. You'll be able to locate our board members and officers, and find links to northwest ACDA sites as well as other helpful Internet locations.

If you are a choral director or a college student majoring in music education or choral conducting, we encourage you to join ACDA.  You will find a cordial welcome and hundreds of colleagues. Our resources, online and print publications, and conventions provide a wealth of practical ideas and a forum for developing your skills.
